Ioseb Bardanashvili
Composer
Ioseb Bardanashvili holds a prominent position as a leading lecturer at the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music, Tel Aviv University, and the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance. He has been a guest composer with the Israeli Camerata of Jerusalem since 2009. From 1996 to 1999, he served as an invited composer for the Raanana Symphonette Orchestra, and from 2005 to 2006 for the Rishon LeZion Symphony Orchestra.
His compositions have graced performances by top orchestras and chamber ensembles. Notably, he was the artistic director of the Tel Aviv New Music Festival from 2002 to 2006. Between 1999 and 2010, Bardanashvili was a member of the Public Council of the Ministry of Culture of Israel and has also judged in numerous international contests.
With an impressive portfolio of over 100 compositions, including operas, ballets, orchestral works, symphonies, concertos, chamber, choral, and vocal music, Bardanashvili's artistic influence extends widely. His musical talent has been employed in the creation of scores for 55 films and 65 theater performances, showcasing his close collaboration with esteemed directors both in Israel and internationally.
