Chairman of the Jury
David Haladjian, a Swiss-Armenian composer, was born in 1962 in Armenia. His musical journey started at the National Conservatory in Yerevan under Prof. Edgar Hovhannisyan's guidance, specializing in composition, music sciences, piano, and conducting. As a former music editor of the National Radio of Armenia, David was exposed to the brilliance of composers like P. Vasks, A. Pärt, A. Schnittke, and T. Mansurian, which influenced his musical insight. From 1991-95, David continued for composition and electroacoustic music studies at Basel Music Academy and Zurich Music High School. Beyond academics, he excels as a choir- and orchestral conductor, performing internationally. David's compositional talents are acknowledged through commissions from various festivals, ensembles, orchestras, and state institutions. Haladjian has composed music for movies and for plays. His compositions, including "Missa de Lumine" for Choir & Orchestra, have graced stages globally, achieving over 60 performances.
