Robert Mlkeyan
Conductor
Robert Mlkeyan holds the Title of Honored Worker of Art of the RA. He is the awardee of the Movses Khorenatsi medal, as well as the second-class Medal of Services to the Motherland.
From 1984-1986, he has been directing The Student Choir of the YSC Composition and Musicology Department, and from 1988-1992 – the Conservatory Youth Choir.
From 1992-2000, Mlkeyan was appointed the Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the State Symphonic Orchestra of Gyumri and the Gyumri Chamber Choir. In 1995 he founded the “Hay Folk” Vocal Ensemble. Since 2000 Mlkeyan serves as the Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the Armenian State Chamber Choir.
Mlkeyan released the “ARS POETICA’’ CD by the worldwide famous ECM Sound Recording Studio.
He toured extensively all over the world: London, Paris, Lyon, Marseille, Geneva, Brussels, Aleppo, Damascus, Latakia, Tbilisi, Moscow, Saint-Petersburg, Hanover, Frankfurt, Strasbourg, Los Angeles, Dresden, etc.
